Natural Hair Staples – Products that your hair love and you will always use or have at home.
Hey, Curlies! As some of you may know I have been natural for 3 full years. I transitioned from July 2015 to August 2016. As time moved along, I tried a good number of different natural hair products. Not all of them stuck, but I love the ones that did!
I absolutely LOVE TRESemme Botanique as a co-wash. Every time I use it my scalp feels and is clean. The products gives the same effects that shampoo does except it doesn’t dry my hair out. It is not marketed as a co-wash in particular, but I promise it will get the job done. If you already have a conditioner try it as a co-wash!
Maui Moisture, in general, is just a staple brand. I will forever and always use it. The Shea Butter Hair Mask gives you a soft, defined and lasting style. It is the like a curl cream or butter but in a mask form. I can feel the moisture as soon as it is washed out. The elasticity in my hair has increased since using this product starting February 2017. Everytime I become low on products this is the first thing I pick up! If you have thick curly hair I suggest getting two.
In August 2018 I discovered the African Pride Moisture Miracle line via Youtube. The $5.49 price tag had me out buying the line the same day! The one downfall to this is that you have to sit under a dryer for it to honestly work. However, I promise you it is worth it! Soft, Juicy, Bouncy long-lasting curls are what you will get 🙌🏽.
This mask can also be used as a leave-in, and that is why I am obsessed with it. That is why I suggested you get two. My curls seem to appreciate me for using it on them. The amount of time my twist out last is mesmerizing, and the definition is insane.
Black Castro Oil is my best friend. No matter the brand, the cost, the size it is my best friend! Remember it seals the moisture into your hair for styling and is not a moisturizer on its own.
Cream & Butter
African Pride almost stole my heart, but Maui will forever have it. However, if I cannot find my favorite butter, then I would for sure go with AP! The bounce and shine my hair has once it is dried is fascinating. The shrinkage is still real with this product. I have had the same thing of curl cream for almost a year. It last a long time and does not take much.
Maui Maui Maui I could never leave it out. Butter is a blessing. This one, in particular, is a gift from God himself. Talking about curls pop pop pop popping everywhere! It pairs best with the LOC method for me. I couldn’t give it up if I tried.
